October 19, 2015 - Using Volunteer Responders
This Information Session featured a discussion with Hillsborough Police Department retired Captain, Nick Gottuso. Now serving as Coastside's Emergency Response Coordinator for the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office of Emergency Services, Mr. Gottuso's described the approach he used to create a resident, volunteer corps for post-disaster support. The Coastside Response Corp includes residents with the following training credentials: CERT, medical (doctors, nurses, paramedics and EMTs), ham radio operators, shelter management, large machinery operators, and animal evacuation. 

Wayne Hoss, provided an update on the  new San Mateo County Alert System (SMC Alert). 
New features allow our residents to link up to 10 devices and enter all addresses for which they would like to be notified of the following events:
 Public Safety Emergencies, Crime Alerts, Wildlife Alerts, Major Road Closures. This can include home address, work addresses, kids school addresses, extended family home and work addresses in the county, etc.

Additionally, Hillsborough's Police Department provided an update on crime trends and investigations in our Town. 

January 14, 2015 - Crime Prevention
The Hillsborough Police Department (HPD) provided a presentation on Hillsborough crime trends, current investigations, the use of technology in solving crimes, and HPD services available to residents. HPD answered questions from residents. HNN provided residents with information about the Town's 84 neighborhoods and helped to link residents with their Neighborhood Leads and to fill open Neighborhood Lead positions.
