How do I dispose of heavy trash like household appliances? Residents can haul the material to the San Carlos Transfer Station, or BFI will collect the materials as part of an on-call pick up. Residents are allowed 2 on-call pick ups annually.
My neighbor is cutting down a big tree and I am concerned that it may be a "heritage tree". During business hours, call the Building Department at 375-7411 with the neighbor's address. The staff can see if a tree removal permit has been issued or can send an inspector out to see if the tree removal is authorized. After regular business hours or on weekends, call the Police Department dispatch at 375-7470.
What can I do about uncollected trash or recyclables? Contact BFI via email at email@example.com or (650) 592-2411. If you experience chronic, unresolved problem please call Public Works.
What kind of trash cans can I use? Residents can use any size containers for trash cans from a 5 gallon bucket to the conventional 35 gallon trash cans. BFI can provide larger 64 or 90 gallon carts on request.
Residents are charged for refuse service on a per gallon basis. Residents can subscribe to service as low as 5 gallons, with no maximum service.
