Mission Statement

The Town of Hillsborough Building Department's mission is to serve customers with professionalism and efficiency through permitting and inspections to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the community. The permit process protects citizens against unlicensed contractors and prevents the misplacement of structures on properties. Inspections are performed in stages to ensure compliance with the California Building Codes Title 24. All deficiencies are noted and re-inspected to ensure work is done to meet the codes. The Building Department is proud of providing fast and efficient service to customers and the community.
