Planning Department
The Planning Department is responsible for Design Review, Zoning, Environmental Assessment and Long-Term Planning Design Review - Design Review involves providing staff services to the Town’s Architecture and Design Review Board, processing design review applications, conducting public hearings, and implementing the Town’s Design Guidelines. Zoning - Zoning includes the administration of the Town’s Title 17 - Zoning Ordinance and other development regulations of the Hillsborough Municipal Code and providing zoning information to homeowners and developers. Environmental Assessment - Environmental Assessment involves the preparation of environmental documents as required for both private and Town projects consistent with provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act. Long-Term Planning - Long-Term Planning involves the preparation, maintenance and implementation of the Town’s General Plan.
