The Town of Hillsborough has proudly adopted U.S. Army Unit, H&H Company, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), unit nickname “Warriors”, deployed in Afghanistan: Operation Enduring Freedom.

News Image If you see a mountain lion
Some residents have recently reported seeing evidence of mountain lion activity in the area.  No sightings of the large animal have been reported.  As a reminder, call 911 if you see any dangerous animals in the area.

Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Center

According to the San Mateo County Coroner's report, there were 50 deaths by suicide in the county in 2006.  There is a resource available to those who are dealing with suicide or other crises; the YFES Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Center.  (http://www.onyourmind.net/
There 24-hour crisis line is 650-579-0350 or 1-800-SUICIDE.  There is also a support line for parents (1-88-220-7575) and another for drug and alcohol issues (650-573-3950). Any of these services can be contacted if you are concerned about anothers welfare or call the Hillsborough Police Department at 650-375-7470 for additional information.

Recently, homeowners in Hillsborough have received solicitation letters from Property Tax Reassessment companies claiming they can save you thousands of dollars on your property tax bills.

No Solicitation Registry
The Hillsborough Police Department asks you to be alert for any persons who come to your residence to solicit magazines, driveway paving, tree trimming, house cleaning or similar services / promotions.

Soliciting in the Town of Hillsborough is illegal without a permit, and often times these transient groups participate in criminal behavior.  Typically, religious and political organizations are the only groups that may go from door to door and are protected under law.

We encourage residents to complete the "No Solicitation Registry" (click this link).  This form can also be obtained by calling the Hillsborough Police Department at 375-7470. 

Remember to report solicitors and other suspicious activity in your neighborhood.

News Image Alternate routes on school days
In an effort to reduce the increase in road traffic in the area of Crocker School (Ralston Ave. and Chateau Dr.) the Hillsborough Police Department has mapped out an alternative route through town.  This alternate route will assist you in avoiding any traffic issues in the area during school pick hours (8-830a.m. & 3-3:30p.m.).

There is a pdf version attached below or you can come by the police station for a copy any time.
