Don’t miss the Parade – back by popular request!
Parade will start at 10:30 am at Town Hall. The route has been slightly changed from last year: it will wind its way up Floribunda Ave, turn on Sharon, then on Brookvale, then south on Eucalyptus to the North School field where it will culminate with food from Sam’s Chowder House, Let’s Be Frank all-natural hot dogs and taco and ice cream trucks! There will also be carnival games, face painting, crafts and live music and other entertainment to celebrate the day. Everyone is invited to participate in the parade and the post-parade activities. To be in the parade, go to www.hillsborough.net and click on “parade” to fill out the application form. Forms are due on May 15, 2011. Groups must have a minimum of six participants, one adult leader and a banner identifying the group.

The 55th Annual Hillsborough Concours d'Elegance will be held at the Crystal Springs Golf Course. The featured marquees for this year are the Bugatti and the Packard.

CALLING ALL BOOKCLUBS! The Hillsborough Town Activities Committee is planning to launch a Booktalk Authors' series this fall.  We'd love to communicate with the book clubs in town by email.  If you are in a book club, please forward the email address of at least one point person in your group so we can let you know the details.  If you are not currently in a book club you can also join this email list. Please send the email address of your contact person to hweir@sbcglobal.net and don't hesitate to send me any questions or suggestions in the meantime!

HNN is exploring the community’s interest in a bulk purchase of AEDs. The HeartStart OnSite De?brillator is designed for the ordinary person. The ?rst portable commercial de?brillator available without a prescription, the OnSite is the easiest to use and most reliable de?brillator available. The AED is so easy to use that you can potentially save the life of a neighbor, co-worker, friend, family member or anyone else stricken with cardiac arrest. If 20 or more residents are interested, we can receive a 35% discount per unit or $1,026. If interested, email hnn@hillsborough.net
