The Town of Hillsborough conducts vegetation management in its town-owned open space areas to reduce the risk of wildfire. The Town mows ground cover, thins shrubs, and limbs-up trees to 10 feet in certain areas within Town-owned open spaces. Saplings (4 inches in diameter or smaller) are removed as needed to reduce fire risk. There is no removal of large, live trees.
