The Town of Hillsborough imposes an ordinance which requires residents with alarm systems to get an annual alarm permit. The Hillsborough Police Department also offers residents alarm monitoring services for a fee.
All residents who own alarm systems are required to maintain an annual alarm permit. Please complete an application for your initial permit. Renewals are automatically billed with your first water bill in a calendar year. The purpose of the Alarm Permit Ordinance (No. 604, 1999) is to regulate home alarm systems within the town.
The Police Department provides direct connection to its dispatch center for monitoring services. This is a voluntary subscription for monitoring service. The Hillsborough Police Department utilizes alarm monitoring systems which are monitored by the Hillsborough Communications Center. The current alarm monitoring fee is $24 per month billed every 2 months with the water bill.
