Dear Town Customer,
As part of the Town’s response to COVID-19, the Town has moved to modified operations, subject to change through future County health orders. The Town remains open, however operations will occur online at https://www.hillsborough.net/ or over the phone at (650) 375-7400 to limit in-person contact. Online and phone services hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00am to 12:30pm on Friday. Essential services from first-responders will continue.
Forms and services are available on the Town’s website. Below are links to some of the Town’s most commonly used forms. Forms requiring payment can be submitted with a check either by mail or by dropping off in our white locked drop box in the parking lot of Town Hall. This includes business licenses, alarm permits and monitoring, paying a water bill, signing up for new water service or closing an existing account.

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT:
UPDATE: May 18, 2020
The Town of Hillsborough’s Sewer Division will be resuming all maintenance operations, some of which were deferred for the past few months. If your property has a sanitary sewer easement, please allow access to the Town’s crews or our contracted representatives to conduct normal maintenance operations of sewer mains as necessary. Please call the Public Works Department at (650) 375-7444 if you have any questions.
PERMIT CENTER AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT:
CONSTRUCTION & PERMITTING UPDATE: May 1, 2020
Consistent with the April 29, 2020 San Mateo County Shelter-In-Place order, beginning Monday, May 4, 2020 all construction activities and landscaping/gardening activities will be allowed to resume. These activities must adhere to specific site hygiene and social distancing conditions. GENERAL TOWN MATTERS:
TOWN HALL LIMITED ACCESS
Town Hall will be open with limited access from 8:00am to 4:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am to 12:30pm Friday. Please ring the doorbell and staff will come to the door to assist you. Social distancing and face coverings are required as detailed in the County’s health order. It is highly recommended to contact the Town by phone or e-mail before coming to Town Hall.
All visitors are required to go through temperature and symptom screenings prior to entering the building.
