Sanitary Sewer System Smoke Testing

The Town will soon begin its sanitary sewer smoke testing project. The purpose of smoke testing is to identify and remove sources of rain or ground water in the sanitary sewer system. The smoke used is a non-toxic substance that is harmless to humans, pets, food and material items. If smoke does enter the home, it will clear in a few minutes with proper ventilation. It is possible that the smoke could cause a smoke detector or fire alarm to go off for a moment.

The project will last for approximately four weeks. Work will occur Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm. Notices will be sent to residents and property owners two weeks prior to starting, then again a few days before commencing.
